FAQs
Am I allowed to have a dumpster in my driveway?
Yes, a driveway is often a good spot to put your dumpster since it's usually near your project location and you won't need a permit. However, if you choose to place the container in a public area, like a street or sidewalk, you'll need to apply for a Right-of-Way Permit with Henrico County.
How should I prep my driveway for delivery?
Make sure your driveway is clear of any obstructions or debris, like cars or tree branches. If you would like to clearly mark your delivery location, use cones or place plywood to help protect the surface.
Should I remove prohibited items from my dumpster?
Yes, you should remove any prohibited items. Landfills don't accept these materials due to safety and environmental concerns, and they will charge an added fee, which we will send in a second invoice. Our team will go over these details when you order.
Will you automatically pick up my dumpster at the end of my rental period?
No, we won't come for pickup until you request it. Reach out to us by phone or online request form to have us haul your dumpster away.
Could I be charged an overage fee?
Yes, you may be charged an overage fee if you overfill the dumpster. It's best to fill the bin to about six inches below the top of the dumpster to avoid an additional charge. Different debris can cause you to go over the limit even if the bin isn't filled to capacity, but don't worry — we'll go over any questions you have when you order.
