FAQs
Should I rent a dumpster for this project?
A dumpster is an easy and affordable solution to clean up any project. We'll deliver the container right to your driveway so you can continue your work without pausing to drive to the landfill or waiting on curbside bulk collection day. Just open the swinging door to load heavy items and throw light debris over the sides.
Can I request an exact delivery time?
You can certainly request a delivery time and we'll make a note of it. However, we can't guarantee exact delivery times as our routes are optimized for fuel efficiency and may change throughout that day as transfer stations inform us they are diverting service.
What costs should I expect with a dumpster rental?
You should expect one bundled, transparent cost when you rent a dumpster with us. We factor the prices of delivery, pickup, disposal, landfill fees and a covered weight limit to give you a straightforward price. Please keep in mind that the landfill may charge you separate fees if you exceed your weight limit or toss prohibited items.
Where do I get a permit if I need to put my dumpster in the street?
For street placement, you'll need to reach out to the city of Virginia Beach and apply for a Dumpster Permit.
However, if you choose to place the container in your driveway, you won't need a permit.
Where do you take my trash?
We take trash to a number of locations throughout the Virginia Beach area, depending primarily on the material type. Most trash remains local at the City of Virginia Beach Landfill, located at 1989 Jake Sears Road. We'll also use other facilities that fit well on our fuel-optimized route, such as the Hampton Roads Recovery Center and SPSA Oceana Transfer Station.
How does the landfill know if there are prohibited items in my dumpster?
When we take your trash to the landfill, workers sort your debris to decide where it should be directed. As a result, they will find any prohibited items and may charge a fee.
We'll tell you what can and can't go in your dumpster when you place your order. Plus, your invoice will list all prohibited items to help you avoid any potential fees.
How much can I toss in a dumpster?
It depends on the size you rent. For example, a 20 yard dumpster can usually hold 110-130 contractor grade 33-gallon trash bags. We have dumpsters in the Virginia Beach area that will work for any project. When you reach out, we'll help you decide which size you need.
How do I avoid trip fees?
Trip fees occur when our driver attempts to deliver or pick up a dumpster but is unable to. Most often, there is something blocking the placement area, such as a car or locked fence. Be sure to keep the area clear and accessible to ensure a seamless service.
