FAQs
Am I allowed to have a dumpster in my driveway?
Yes, a driveway is a great spot to place your dumpster since it's near your project location and doesn't require a permit. However, if you choose to put the bin in a public right-of-way, like a street or walkway, you'll need to apply for a Right-of-Way Permit with the Engineering Department.
How can I rent a dumpster?
Get in contact with our team and share what you're tossing. We'll recommend the right bin size and help schedule delivery. When the dumpster arrives, get to work tossing your waste, and let us know when you're done — it's that easy.
You can even order online. Just select the size, tell us where you would like the bin using our OnPoint Placement Tool and prepare for delivery. We'll share the terms of your agreement and any prohibited items so you know what to expect.
What types of debris should not go in my dumpster?
Any flammable, toxic or hazardous debris is prohibited from our dumpsters. Some landfills may have additional restrictions but don't worry, we'll go over any restricted items at the time of your order.
How can I avoid overage charges?
You can avoid additional overage fees by filling the dumpster and not leaving any debris hanging over the sides or sticking through the top of the bin. You can also avoid charges by making sure you're not tossing any prohibited items.
How much can I toss in a dumpster?
It depends on the size you rent. For example, a 20 yard dumpster can usually hold 110-130 contractor-grade 33-gallon trash bags. When you reach out, we'll help you decide which size you need. There are also recommendations on our website when you order online.
