FAQs
What's included in the cost when I rent a dumpster?
Roll off dumpster costs typically include drop-off, pickup, a specified weight limit, the rental timeframe and local disposal fees. The exact amount you pay can vary based on your location, the dumpster size and the type of waste you’re removing.
Do I need a permit for my dumpster rental?
If you opt for driveway placement, no permit is needed. However, if you need the bin in a street or public right-of-way, you'll need to reach out to the St. Louis Street Department at least one week before the delivery date to request a Blocking Right of Way Permit.
What can I expect after I order?
On your scheduled delivery day, your dumpster could be dropped off at any time. You won’t need to be present, but please keep the area open and free of cars, gates or other barriers. If you need to change the delivery date, get a second dumpster or arrange for pickup, use our Service Dashboard.
What can't I throw away in a roll off dumpster?
Our St. Louis roll off dumpsters can handle most materials, but certain items are always off-limits. Hazardous, toxic or flammable waste is prohibited for safety and environmental reasons. Contact our team if you’re unsure about what you can toss.

Not a smooth experience
My initial problem below was eventually remedied. The dumpster was placed in the wrong location on Friday, they said they would move it on Monday, they showed up to move it on Wednesday morning. When I first called I asked for a 20 foot dumpster. When I described the job I was told I should get a 10 foot, I decided on the 15 because the 10 didn't seem like enough. In the end I definitely needed the 20 foot but to get the 15 foot dumped and returned was an extra $400 so now I have a completely full dumpster and everything else is going in bags. Besides the first person I spoke with who gave me the bad advice and the person who aggressively tried to make me pay for their mistake I spoken to many people at dumpster.com who have been very kind and helpful. If I had gotten the 20 foot dumpster I initially wanted and they had put it in the right place it would have been 5star service but it's been a huge hassle having to call or text multiple times a day for almost a week now. Original post that was eventually remedied: Trying to charge for their mistake. I was supposed to have a dumpster delivered in my driveway. The drivers placed it on the street instead (which I would need a permit for). Parker, from Dumpsters.com is telling me there was a car in the driveway and they had to place it on the street because they need up to 60 feet to place the dumpster. The car is 72 feet away from the end of the driveway. They want to charge me $195 because their drivers put it in the wrong place. The way Parker is communicating with me is belittling. Addendum: the driver who eventually moved the dumpster was awesome and very skilled. He used less than half of my driveway to get it into the right spot.
